Our Cornerstone
At Cornerstone Classical Collaborative, we believe education is not merely the transfer of information but the formation of souls. Our work together is rooted in the conviction that Christ Himself is our cornerstone. “The stone the builders rejected” who has become the firm foundation on which we build our lives (Psalm 118:22). Because He is the source of all wisdom and knowledge, we seek to order our learning, our community, and our rhythms around Him.
Redeeming Our Education
Recovering The Work Of Formation
We gather not simply to complete academic tasks or to enjoy fellowship, but to participate in the slow, faithful work of formation, of our children and of ourselves. Scripture calls us to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6) and to “bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). This calling requires more than worksheets and weekly meetings; it requires a community committed to walking virtuously together, pressing into truth, and cultivating habits that shape hearts as well as minds.
Cornerstone exists to help families reclaim an education that is rich, rooted, and redemptive ... an education that forms affections, strengthens character, and awakens wonder at the God who made all things.
A Two-Day Rhythm
A Shared Life of Learning
Our community meets two days each week, primarily in one shared space with children ages 4–10 learning side by side. This multi‑age environment reflects the natural rhythms of family life and the historic model of classical learning, where older students strengthen their understanding by helping younger ones, and younger students grow through imitation and participation.
During certain strands—such as writing, literature, or age‑specific skills—students break into smaller groups. But the heartbeat of our community remains our shared room, shared story, and shared pursuit of wisdom.
Classical Education as a Way of Seeing
Classical education is often reduced to memory work or the three stages of the trivium, but its essence is far deeper. The trivium is not merely a sequence of subjects; it is a way of approaching all learning:

-
Grammar: receiving knowledge with humility
-
Logic: questioning and connecting ideas with discernment
-
Rhetoric: expressing truth with clarity and virtue
This posture shapes every strand we study. Whether we are learning Bible literacy, civics, the unfolding of history through The Story of the World, or exploring science, art, and music, we aim to cultivate minds that love truth and hearts that seek wisdom.
Parents As Primary Educators
Cornerstone is not a drop‑off program. Parents are the primary educators, and our community thrives when families bring their gifts, passions, and callings for the good of the whole body. As Paul reminds us, “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7). We invite parents to teach, assist, share expertise, and participate fully in the life of the community.

This work is not only for our children, it's for us! Many of us are reclaiming our own education, rediscovering the beauty of Scripture, history, literature, and the arts. As we learn alongside our children, we participate in the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2) and the strengthening of our faith.
Community Formed by:
Story
Scripture
Shared Pursuit
Over a four‑year cycle, students journey through the sweep of human history, grounding their understanding in Scripture and exploring the ideas, cultures, and great minds that have shaped the world. We pair this narrative learning with:

-
Bible literacy and theological foundations
-
Civics and citizenship rooted in virtue
-
Hands‑on science and nature study
-
Fine arts, music, and creative expression
-
Memory work that builds a foundation for future learning
These strands are not isolated subjects but threads woven into a coherent tapestry of truth.
Walking Together Toward Wisdom
Cornerstone Classical Collaborative is more than a co‑op. We are a community of families committed to walking together in faith, virtue, and joyful learning. We gather to encourage one another, to strengthen one another, and to pursue wisdom as a shared calling.

Our rhythms are simple.
Our rationale is eternal.
Christ is our cornerstone, and in Him all things hold together.
